Pangaea Securities is the leading investment bank in Zambia for all transactions on the Lusaka Stock Exchange (LuSE).
Stock exchange listings require the ability to understand the local and international appetite for Zambian risk, something the Pangaea Securities team has demonstrated time and again, having executed a number of highly successful IPOs and other equity issues in the Zambian market.
Since the LuSE’s formation, Pangaea Securities has executed 16 out of 22 securities listed on the Exchange.  We have been financial advisors on three of the four mandatory offers ever conducted in Zambia.
Selected transactions on which were lead manager and sponsoring broker include: First Quantum Minerals’ US$18 million Zambian Depository Receipts (ZDR)  listing on the LuSE in 2011; Zambeef Products plc’s US$60 million IPO on London’s Alternative Investment Market (AIM) in 2011; and Celtel’s US$190 million IPO on the LuSE in 2008.
Rights issues call upon an ability to understand the dynamics of growing companies, in growing markets – something Pangaea Securities has spent the last 20 years perfecting. We lead managed the US$70 million rights issue for Zambian Breweries plc in 2011 and were the lead manager and sponsoring broker for Zambia Sugar plc’s US$49 million rights offering in 2009 as well as Zambeef Products plc’s US$30 million rights issue in 2008. All three were highly successful and in succession, each was the largest rights offering completed over the LuSE at the time.
Private placements draw on personal and institutional relationships and in-depth market knowledge – a skill that our team has honed through years of market exposure and hands-on business experience.
